As current Meredith Middle School principal David Johns prepares to take on a new leadership role within the district, Vice Principal Victor “Kip” Colemon accepts the role of principal, bringing 20+ years of experience to the position. Before starting 7th grade in the fall, students must meet a new mandatory state vaccination requirement. Students without proof of a meningitis vaccination or an exemption will not be allowed to attend classes in the fall. As of Aug. 1, 38% of Meredith’s incoming 7th grade students do not have the vaccination.
