Meredith/Cowles Band Receives High Marks

Congratulations to middle school bands from Des Moines that earned top ratings for their performances this weekend at the South-Central Iowa Bandmaster’s Association Concert Band contest. The Hiatt 7-8 band, the Meredith/Cowles band and the Merrill 7th grade band all earned a I rating while the Merrill 8th grade band received a I+.

Iowa Requires Vaccine Booster for 7th Graders

Iowa law now requires that all students entering 7th grade receive a one-time booster of the Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccine.
