Congratulations to middle school bands from Des Moines that earned top ratings for their performances this weekend at the South-Central Iowa Bandmaster’s Association Concert Band contest. The Hiatt 7-8 band, the Meredith/Cowles band and the Merrill 7th grade band all earned a I rating while the Merrill 8th grade band received a I+.
Iowa law now requires that all students entering 7th grade receive a one-time booster of the Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccine. This change is being implemented at the beginning of the 2013-14 school year. For more information about the Tdap booster and how to get it for your child, please click the above headline.
