What is IB?

The International Baccalaureate Programme is a nonprofit educational organization that provides professional development and guides schools as they develop students’ intellectual, personal, social, and emotional skills.  The IB works with over 3,000 schools around the world developing rigorous curriculum to prepare learners for our increasingly global society.  There are over 1,500 IB World Schools in the United States and 10 programs in Des Moines.  The Primary Years Program is offered at Walnut Street, Park Avenue, Stowe, and Hubbell Elementaries.  The Middle Years Program is offered at Goodrell, Merrill, Meredith, and Hoover High School; Brody Middle School is in the candidacy phase.  The Diploma Program is offered at Central Academy.
