Why IB?

Students in the Middle Years program experience highly engaging and relevant curriculum.  Research shows that IB students perform better than others in Math and Science (Wade, 2011).  Their lessons are connected to the world around them because global awareness is an essential 21st century skill.  Intercultural understanding does not replace students’ national identity, but enhances it through respect for and curiosity about others.    Furthermore, IB schools seek to develop the whole student by focusing on 10 learner profile traits.  The goal is to help learners become:

  • Thinkers
  • Communicators
  • Risk-takers
  • Caring
  • Balanced
  • Principled
  • Open-Minded
  • Reflective
  • Knowledgeable
  • Inquirers
